Uh-huh, I hear you.

❪ although eddie rolls his eyes there is a smile on his face before his gaze flickers from rich to their daughter. she still has a tight grip on his finger but he is content on letting her keep holding on if it meant she'd sleep for a little longer. she's been so active and vocal throughout the night that it's almost worried him but, honestly, she's still little. it's not like babies had set schedules just yet.

the mention of their friends and richie's family gets another smile out of eddie. ❫

Oh yeah? I'm just glad your folks are as smitten by her as the rest of us.

❪ because, yeah, he doubts his mother would have been on board with any of this. hell, eddie doesn't doubt-- he knows she wouldn't have agreed to this. from his choice of a mate or decision to start a family with said person, it would have all been one literal hell. ❫

[ His fingers reach up to try to smooth her hair down and, of course, it doesn't. Even when it was gently brushed, it would still stick up or just take on its own wild life. They ended up coming to the conclusion it just needs to grow out more. Which it quickly was. His hand ends up going into Eddie's hair, instead. ]

Pretty sure they thought I would never have kids. But honestly, who could resist her anyway?

[ Someone with no heart, obviously. But then Rich knows, deep down, he's probably being biased as hell. ]

❪ he watches with an amused grin as rich tries smoothing down amelia's curly hair without any luck. eddie had, despite all his work and research, had given up on trying to control their daughter's hair currently just as he gave up trying to make any sense of richie's own hair.

instead, he enjoys the contact of rich's hand carding through his own hair and sighs. ❫

I'm just glad she has a set of grandparents that love her and enough godparents to shake a stick at. ❪ he murmurs with a slight chuckle. ❫ Is it bad that I'm already convinced she needs a sibling?

[ Richie tries not to laugh at that, shaking his head. ]

Already? Babe, you're exhausted as it is.

[ But he rubs at Ed's scalp gently with his fingers. ]

❪ certainly not as badly as he had been even before she was born because, as it turns out, a child is hard work straight from the beginning. it had taken a lot more out of him than he imagined not that it overall hadn't been a good experience too.

still, he's content with the movement of rich's fingers against his scalp and sighs. ❫

I just remember what it was like growing up as a only child is all.

[ When Eddie is having a hard time staying awake, Rich knows he has to be more tired than he lets on. Which is why he's going to be firm on this. Mostly. ]

I get it, I do. I would love to make a bigger family with you. But let's wait a little, alright? Get her on an actual routine. Replenish our batteries. Until then... we can practice.

❪ he gets what rich is saying though and, despite his own feelings, is in agreement. there wasn't any need to rush into this, they still had plenty of time to weigh all of this and figure out what would work best for them. for all three of them.
