❪ he opens his mouth as if to protest but richie, thankfully, does quick work of shutting eddie up. he all but melts into the kiss, returning it just as deeply and holding richie's face close as they kiss.

when they do part, eddie is breathing hard but smiling. ❫

Something simple, Rich. Maybe not gold though. ❪ since, you know, his last wedding band had been gold. ❫ But, yeah, we are. We're gonna get married.

❪ again, he has to smile and near laughs as richie seemly talks to himself. ❫

[Richie can't help but beam. This is the best day of his life. He has Eddie in his bed and a ring to buy. He reaches back to yank his shirt off just for the sake of expediency. His mind is still half in the moment and half planning a wedding. ]

I used to write that in my notebooks. The ones for classes we didn't share. I used to write 'Richie Kaspbrak' and 'Eddie Tozier' and sometimes just stupid Richie Kaspbrak-Tozier II because I was planning a kid, I guess? I don't know.

[He leans down and strokes Eddie's cheek reverently. ]

I woulda eaten glass to have what I have now.

❪ he breathes out a sound as richie yanks his shirt off. immediately, eddie has his hands on him and lets them explore the length of his body as richie talks. he gets it though, honestly being split between the moment and this future they had just settled on. at least the bed is comfortable, the sheets aside.

although he smiles there is always a touch of pain thinking back to their teens and everything they could have had then if they had just gotten their shit together. on the other hand, it's still near overwhelming to imagine that richie has been thinking about him for this long. it makes his heart swell and ache pleasantly. ❫

I stuck to daydreaming mostly. I wanted so many things but you were always at the forefront of everything else. ❪ he murmurs and pulls him closer for a small kiss. ❫ Sometimes I think I'm dreaming. That maybe I'll wake up and we'll still be in that fucking sewer.

❪ he lets a hand come up to cup his cheek with a slow breath of air. he doesn't mean for things to be so emotionally but fuck if it wasn't hard sometimes. ❫ I can't lose you again, Rich.

[Richie's whole mood transitions seamlessly into loving concern. He drops his head down and lets their foreheads press close. ]Hey. Hey, you are never gonna lose me. It would take like, fifteen Ben's to get me away from you, now. You hear me?

[He kisses Eddie softly, his own hand brushing tenderly at whatever skin he can get to. Every inch of Eddie was perfect, after all, so it didn't matter; Richie always wanted to worship all of it.]

You're part of me, now. You're part of my fucking soul, Kaspbrak.

And besides. [He will always, always still be Richie. ] You pay half the rent and that place isn't cheap.

[respirations]

❪ eddie can't help but breathe out slowly as richie leans in and presses their foreheads together. he closes his eyes and finds himself unable to help smiling at the image richie paints in his head. ❫

M-mm. I hear you. ❪ he says and presses up to return the kiss as his hands trace along richie's side with a soft sound. ❫ We're stuck together, you and me. Makes sense then since we're getting married and all.

❪ it's still hard to believe despite being the one to bring it up in the first place. and, yeah, richie will be richie and eddie can't help but grin. ❫

Oh yeah? I'd hate for you to lose out especially when we were lucky enough to grab a place with a fucking yard.
