( He doesn't bother to reply before starting to move about his hotel room in order to get ready for meeting Richie. It takes a surprising amount of time to settle on something simple for meeting his best friend for the first time in months although Eddie ultimately decides it's because of his very recent (as of less than six hours ago) break up and his now ex-boyfriend leaving to head back to New York.

Eddie finally settles on his typical attire of a nice shirt and jacket before heading downstairs to wait for Richie. It isn't a long wait before the text of his approach comes through and he sees the car approach, waving before hurrying over to slide into the passenger seat. There's a sudden chill that goes through his body as he looks over at Rich and smiles warmly, breathing out a sigh. )

Hey there, Richie.

(Richie is left grinning like a child in a toy store. He had honestly thought Eddie would turn down his offer and wish to ache alone in his hotel, Richie wasn't going to allow that to happen. Eddie was a terrific person despite how he could be a bit of a pain sometimes, he still deserved the damn world after all the bull shit he suffered throughout his childhood. Eddie has earned himself a relationship that isn't pure shit. His wife had been a complete nightmare, the reincarnation of his mother and Blaine was just a stuck up, know it all bitch.

Eddie could do better, he deserved.

Richie takes a few moments to get himself cleaned up, he doesn't want to look a hot damn mess while treating his best friend to a much needed night out. He also takes note to keep Eddie away from any kind of paparazzi, he's not going to allow anyone to shit on his good friend's night.

Once refreshed he hits the road, he doesn't want to keep Eddie waiting and honestly he's beaming with excitement that he's actually getting some alone time with the other man while in his state. Eddie is going to have his fine ass spoiled to the max! It doesn't take him long to reach his destination and he's grinning all over again the moment his best friend comes into view. )

Hey Eds! (He greets with a genuine eagerness as the other man slips into his sports car. )

( It's hard for Eddie not to smile as Richie greets him. Already he feels at ease, a lot more comfortable than he's since first arriving in California earlier this week with Blaine. Things had already been on the rocks by then and he had (stupidly) thought that maybe things would be better with them out of New York. He thought maybe they were both just stressed from work, Eddie's continued recovery and trying so hard to keep in touch with his friends.

Maybe that should have been the first red flag that he would get upset about "spending more time with friends" than with him even though they fucking lived together. It was tiring and it probably shows as he sinks into the seat, buckling himself in with another small smile. )

Ready to get away from this fucking hotel. ( Because it reminds him too much of all the shit that he'll have to deal with once he gets back to New York. ) I had to turn my phone off though so I'm glad you got ahold of me before I did. I guess Blaine's plane landed because he's been blowing up my phone with a bunch of bullshit.

( He sighs tiredly and gazes out the window to watch the city go by in a slight blur. )

Ready to spend some time with you. I feel like its been forever since the last time we saw one another.

(Richie wished that Eddie had just made this journey alone, now it seems as though Blaine has soiled what could have been a wonderful experience. It wasn't Richie's place to make the request, to fess up and admit to his old best friend that he wanted all of Eddie's time, no shitty partners allowed. Besides Richie was allowed to be selfish when it came to Eddie's attention, he had been lacking it due to Blaine.

Richie respected that fact, well not really but Eddie wasn't his boyfriend. Eddie had built himself a life since they all left Derry 27 years ago, he had a new life to balance and focus on. All the Losers had and they were all trying their best to make up for lost time. )

You can't tell him to fuck off or is he just not getting the memo? (Richie has dealt with clingy partners before, they aren't the greatest experience and Richie has never been one to fully commit. It was difficult to do so considering his celebrity status, he had to thread carefully in those type of situations.)

Well it wasn't like you could do much during your recovery. (One in which Richie stayed right by Eddie's side during, just as he had done during Eddie's long stay at the hospital. He wasn't just going to abandon Eddie when he needed Richie the most, none of the losers did.)
